The Erasmus Process Following Nomination

Once your nominations have been processed, you will receive emails from your host institutions explaining how to complete your application procedures. Once your nomination is complete, students who receive these emails must select their courses. You must review the course descriptions of the courses you plan to take at the host institution to determine which courses can be counted toward your program here. Once you have selected your courses, you must sign the Equivalency Form A and the Learning Agreement—which you can obtain from the EU Office—and submit them via email to the relevant Research Assistant at your home institution. The steps to follow at this stage are:

1. First, you must determine which courses you will take there. You are expected to take 30 ECTS credits worth of courses from the host institution. If you encounter difficulties in course selection, taking 25–35 ECTS credits may also be accepted. At least two-thirds of the ECTS credits you earn from the host institution must be covered by the ECTS credits of the courses you will take here. (For example: If you earned 30 ECTS credits from the host institution, the courses you will count here must total at least 20 ECTS credits.)

2. You must determine the equivalents here for the courses you plan to take there. To do this, you need to review the course descriptions of the partner institution and those of our department. Please submit the courses whose content you believe matches to the relevant Research Assistant in the following format:
XXXXX Control Systems --> EHMXXXX Automatic Control

3. You must submit the course descriptions for the courses you have tentatively decided on (the courses you believe can be counted toward your degree both there and here) to the relevant Research Assistant at your university.

4. If the course contents you have submitted match, you will receive a form of approval confirming that you may take the courses.

5. After deciding on your courses, you must submit the Equivalency Form A and the Learning Agreement (signed by you), which you can find on the office’s website, to the relevant Research Assistant at your home institution.

6. The Equivalency Form A must first be signed by the Department Erasmus Coordinator and then by the Equivalency Committee. The Learning Agreement, after being signed by the Department Erasmus Coordinator, is sent to the office, where it must also be signed.

7. You must then submit the signed Learning Agreement to the host institution.

* Since this process may take some time, it would be in your best interest to review the
courses you plan to take without delay.* Your final application deadlines are likely specified in the emails sent to you by the host institution. You must make your course selections while taking into account your final application deadlines, as well as the course selection and form signing processes.
