Enrollment in Overlapping Courses via Petition

Dear Students,

In accordance with the Senate decision outlined below, you may request to take one overlapping course by submitting a written request. In accordance with the relevant decision, students wishing to add a course must submit their written requests in person to the Department Secretary’s Office or via email to ehmblm@yildiz.edu.tr by September 23, 2026.

In the written request, you must specify which course the course you wish to take conflicts with.

Students submitting their requests via email must send their signed requests in PDF format. Requests must be submitted only by the specified date and in the specified manner. Otherwise, you must select your courses in accordance with the academic calendar.

(4) The following principles apply to overlapping courses, depending on whether they have been taken previously:

The following principles apply to overlapping courses, depending on whether they have been taken previously:

a) If two practical courses conflict, these courses cannot be taken simultaneously, regardless of whether they have been taken previously.

b) If one is a practical course and the other is a theoretical course, these courses may be taken together provided that the theoretical course has been taken previously and a passing grade other than F0 was earned.

c) If two theoretical courses conflict, these courses may be taken provided that at least one of them has a passing grade other than F0.

d) Students who meet the conditions for taking overlapping courses as outlined in clauses b and c may take one of the courses through the student information system and the other by decision of the faculty administrative board, limited to once per semester.
